UN Special Coordinator Consults with Economic Experts
UN Special Coordinator Joanna Wronecka hosted a roundtable discussion with economic and business experts, as part of her consultations with different stakeholders on how to steer Lebanon towards a more economically and financially sustainable future.
Discussions focused on the unprecedented socio-economic and financial crisis that has weighed down on Lebanon during the past three years, its impact on people’s daily lives and the urgent reforms needed to place the country back on a path of recovery.
The economic experts shared their views on priority areas of concern and on the proposed agenda of reforms, particularly those required to finalize an agreement with the IMF. The discussions also covered the different areas of cooperation between Lebanon and UN as the Special Coordinator highlighted the UN’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and its people out of this crisis.
