It was a privilege for me to meet again with former President Michel Sleiman. We discussed a number of issues, including the security situation. I expressed our appreciation for the army, for the role it has played recently and of course our solidarity with it for the losses it suffered. But, first and foremost our appreciation for its achievements in protecting Lebanon during this difficult period.
I was in Berlin and it was an opportunity to discuss the conference that took place there, its outcome, particularly the meeting of the International Support Group for Lebanon that was established during President Sleiman’s term, and what we achieved there in that regard.
We also discussed resolution 1701, its implementation, and its importance for Lebanon.
Finally, I would like to thank President Sleiman for receiving me today. Thank you.
