The Special Coordinator will brief the United Nations Security Council in New York on 16 March 2016 on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ms. Sigrid Kaag visited today a range of social economic programmes in southern Lebanon.
In Marjayoun, the Special Coordinator visited water management and irrigation projects supported by FAO. In Tyre, Ms. Kaag met with representatives of the Imam Moussa Sadr Foundation. Other project visits included the Civil Committee Against Addiction in Sidon and a visit to an ABAAD centre focusing on assistance to survivors of sexual and gender based violence."Stability and security are built on sound socio-economic foundations and respect for human rights.
