United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Ms. Joanna Wronecka of Poland as his new Special Coordinator for Lebanon on April 1, 2021.

Letter dated 23 March 2021 from the Secretary-General addressed to the President of the Security Council

I wish to inform you of my intention to appoint Ms. Joanna Wronecka (Poland) as the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, pursuant to par agraph 34 of the report of the Secretary-General on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (S/2000/718). She succeeds Mr. Ján Kubiš (Slovakia), who completed his assignment on 7 February 2021. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Mr. Kubiš for his dedication and effective leadership of the Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon. I should be grateful if you would bring the present letter to the attention of the members of the Security Council.
