The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, begins an official visit to Israel today. She is set to meet with senior Israeli officials to discuss recent developments.

The Special Coordinator underscores that there is no military solution that will make either side safer. With the wellbeing of civilians on both sides of the Blue Line and the stability of the region at stake, space must be given for diplomatic efforts to succeed.

بدأت المنسقة الخاصة للأمم المتحدة في لبنان، جينين هينيس-بلاسخارت، زيارة رسمية إلى إسرائيل اليوم. من المقرر أن تلتقي خلالها بكبار المسؤولين الإسرائيليين لمناقشة آخر التطورات.

وتشدد المنسقة الخاصة على أنه لا يوجد حل عسكري من شأنه أن يوفّر الأمان لأيّ طرف. إن سلامة المدنيين على جانبي الخط الأزرق واستقرار المنطقة باتا على المحكّ، مما يستوجب افساح المجال لنجاح الجهود الدبلوماسية.
