Good morning, I just had a very productive meeting with Prime Minister Tamam Salam. As you know, I recently returned from New York and Washington, but New York for the regular briefing of the Security Council on resolution 1701 but very much also on the whole of Lebanon approach which we have adopted. The Security Council session was very productive.
We also now had in depth discussions with the Prime Minister on a number of elements that came out of the Council and that is of course a shared vision of going forward on Lebanon and the importance of the democratically elected institutions, the presidency of course, the importance of that key role. Equally so, on how to deal with and best address the impact of the Syrian refugee crisis in country in the run up to the Kuwait pledging conference, equally so the stability and security of Lebanon as the region continues to be very very volatile as demonstrated by events of recent days. So all our efforts are on stability, security and continuity and in close collaboration with Prime Minister Tamam Salam and his Government but also all local and national partners who are working for the sake of Lebanon, the people of Lebanon in times of volatility and insecurity.
Thank you.
