United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Ján Kubiš of Slovakia as his Special Coordinator for Lebanon.

GENEVA (26 November 2018) – The UN Working Group on enforced or involuntary disappearances* says a new law against enforced disappearances in Lebanon can be a major breakthrough, and urges effective implementation to give victims and their families access to truth and justice.

Acting UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Pernille Dahler Kardel today visited the 4th Land Border Regiment Command of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in Baalbek and the Army’s Air Base and Central Training Centre for Border Management in Rayak, in eastern Lebanon.
