The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Najib Azmi Mikati, President of the Council of Ministers of the Lebanese Republic.  The Secretary-General underscored the continued commitment of the United Nations to supporting the Lebanese people.

The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Lebanon’s generosity in hosting refugees, while underscoring efforts to find solutions for safe and dignified returns.

The Secretary-General and President of the Council of Ministers Mikati discussed the importance of Security Council resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1701 (2006) and the contribution of UNIFIL in maintaining stability.
