UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka visited Saudi Arabia on 23 October, as part of her regular consultations with key regional and international stakeholders and her good offices efforts to join international efforts in support of Lebanon. 

She met with the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel El-Jubair, Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Ben Abdel-Karim El-Khereiji as well as representatives of the diplomatic community in Riyadh.

The discussions focused on the situation in Lebanon and the region and the importance of safeguarding Lebanon’s peace, security and stability, especially through functioning and empowered state institutions.  The Special Coordinator reiterated the UN’s commitment to stand by Lebanon and its people.
