Deputy Special Coordinator Philippe Lazzarini Co-signs UN Strategic Framework for Lebanon

Deputy Special Coordinator and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, today co-signed the UN Strategic Framework for Lebanon (UNSF) together with Mr. Fouad Fleifel, President of the Council of Ministers from the Government of Lebanon.
The UNSF is the UN's collective strategic framework for support to Lebanon for the period 2017-20. It outlines the common vision of the various members of the UN family in Lebanon in support of Lebanon's security, political, human rights, developmental and humanitarian priorities.
Mr. Lazzarini states: "Through the UNSF, the entire UN family in Lebanon reaffirms itscommitment to improve the lives of the Lebanese people and all those Lebanon seeks to protect. We will work with and in support of the Lebanese Government to create a secure, stable and prosperous Lebanon able to exercise full sovereignty and to respect, protect and ensure the rights of all."
Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Ms. Sigrid Kaag, welcomed the signing of the UNSF: "In view of the multi-dimensional challenges facing Lebanon, it is vital that the UN family acts coherently and works as one. With the UNSF we set out to do that, in support of Lebanon's peace, security and stability'
