Following some misleading media reports, the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL) would like to reconfirm its position concerning the government formation.

His Excellency President Michel Aoun received today at Baabda the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Mr. Ján Kubiš together with the Ambassadors, representing the members of the International Support Group for Lebanon (ISG).
Following is UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ message for the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, observed on 2 November:
Becky Andersen: I have with me the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubis who is urging Lebanese authorities to act decisively and quickly to form a new government while maintaining security and peace.
