UN Special Coordinator Meets Youth Agents of Change in Lebanon
In view of the engaging efforts of the youth as well as their critical role for Lebanon’s future, the Special Coordinator held a roundtable discussion on 4 November with a group of youth who are active in the society and in different fields. The ten young people, who included journalists, activists, entrepreneurs, students and social media influencers, shared their vision and aspirations of working all together to tackle Lebanon’s challenges. Highlighting the importance of youth inclusion in Lebanon’s political life and political processes, the Special Coordinator said youth, who represent around 60 percent of the Lebanese population, are the real agents of change and the hope for a better future. The discussions also covered young people’s perceptions of the United Nations and its role in Lebanon.
