Special Coordinator Wronecka Holds Last Round of Farewell Meetings
Prior to the end of her mission with UNSCOL at the end of May, Special Coordinator Joanna Wronecka held a last round of farewell meetings with Lebanese officials and interlocutors. The Special Coordinator thanked Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri for their joint cooperation during the past three years and emphasized the key role of parliament in electing a president to end an 18-month presidential vacuum and passing laws to advance reforms that the country urgently needs. They also discussed the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon. The Special Coordinator also met with a number of academics, intellectuals and civil society representatives who are always active in presenting new ideas to address Lebanon’s accumulating crises.
