In response to questions, the Spokesman for the Secretary-General has the following to say:
The Secretary-General has seen the announcement of the United States plan for the Middle East. The position of the United Nations on the two-State solution has been defined, throughout the years, by relevant Security Council and General Assembly resolutions by which the Secretariat is bound.
08 Jan 2020 - On Monday, the Secretary-General made a passionate appeal for peace. His message to world leaders was simple:
Exercise maximum restraint.
Renew international cooperation.
This appeal remains as important today as it was on Monday.
03 Jan 2020 - The Secretary-General has consistently advocated for de-escalation in the Gulf. He is deeply concerned with the recent escalation.
This is a moment in which leaders must exercise maximum restraint. The world cannot afford another war in the Gulf.

People with anxieties and aspirations.

Above all, people with rights.
Those rights are not a favour to be rewarded or withheld.
